Shameless, The Paddy Ragga Man, has put himself in a great position over the last few months, his last single 'No Hats No Trainers', dominated the airwaves and had specialist play ranging from Radio1 to Kiss100 and many many more prime time radio plays.
As he speaks, he waves an unlit ciggie around as if to emphasise the title of his
debut album.
Indeed, 'Smokers Die Younger' is crammed full of life, from celebrating the good times on 'No Hats No Trainers', to 'Live Fast’s call to get out and do something. Moreover, he is just as happy with guitars as beats, as on his near-duet with Rod Stewart on 'Everyday'. Live, Shameless performs with his own four-piece group – The PaddyRagga Band. “I love hip hop, but I’ve always listened to bands like Nirvana, The Clash and The Specials, too” Shameless explains. “All those things I’ve grown up with, I’ve driven into my music.
It’s sad that you only have rock bands on the front of the NME, while urban music is being demonised.”
The track we have from Shameless is more of a street orientated piece, its not quite Hip Hop, not quite Grime, but it has the presence and the energy to satisfy both and more.. Luckily for us (Food4DaBrain) 'Shame on You' featuring Bruza and produced by the renownd Terra Danjah, wasn't completed in time for the 'Smokers Die Younger' album, (out now in all good stores) making it available as an exclusive 3rd single for our album, what a joy that was..
Food4DaBrain quickly picked up on the fact that it was a hit and did the deal with our friends at DAT SOUND.
Shame on You' is due for release via download only for now, on the 3rd of Septemeber, it will possibly appear on a 12" Picture Disc along with our final single from Skinny Man, but that's just a rumor, however it might not be, so watch this space to find out if it manifests (or not)
